COVID-19 GUIDELINES


At London Student Hotel we recognise that at these unprecedented times the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and employees are among our most important considerations.

We have implemented a range of measures in response to the pandemic, resulting in us being the most COVID-19 friendly accommodation in London. You can rest assure that a clean, safe and supportive environment is provided for peace of mind in your home away from home.

PREVENTION

With nutritionists, dieticians, personal fitness trainers and mental coaches on hand together with carefully created nutritional meals, we ensure your physical and mental wellbeing are well looked after.

DETECTION

At the London Student Hotel, you will benefit from an on-site medical suite, an on-call nurse, doctor and herbal medical practitioner. Routine temperature checks and face scanners regularly monitor your and our staff’s health. Should you need an antibody or COVID-19 test, we will arrange this for you.

RECOVERY

In the event that you test positive, an isolation suite will be provided throughout your recovery period with an on-call nurse, doctor and herbal medical practitioner to assist your recovery. Meals or fresh ingredients will be delivered to your door on a daily basis at no additional cost. The health and welfare of the London Student Hotel’s residents are of paramount importance.

Personnel

All staff members have carried out an antibody test. COVID-19 related policies are communicated to all employees, and regular training is provided on the following operational procedures:

  • Social distancing
  • Disinfecting touch-points, and enhanced cleaning protocols
  • Thorough and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Handling COVID-19 symptomatic visitors, guests and coworkers
  • Personal hygiene including hand washing
  • Minimising physical contact with others
  • Employees with symptoms required to self isolate

Reception and Public Areas

  • Clear signage and floor markings in reception to ensure safe social distancing
  • Labelled boxes for used key cards and pens for disinfection
  • Partitions / screens for resident separation
  • Cardless and cashless payment options via a secure payment link to minimise face to face interaction
  • Students advised to book a specific time slot for gym use
  • Gym equipment disinfected between uses
  • Enhanced cleaning of public touch-points with hospital grade disinfectants such as door handles, light switches, door knobs, elevator buttons, handrails
  • Tables and seats in public areas, i.e. the vegan restaurant, rearranged in compliance with social distancing guidelines
  • Hand sanitiser, masks and disinfectant wipes are available in all public areas
  • One person at a time allowed in the elevator unless travelling together with a colleague, partner or family member

Housekeeping

  • Use of hospital grade disinfectants
  • Sealed plastic bags for dirty linen, used PPE, used cleaning cloths and sponges
  • Change of PPE for housekeeping team members after cleaning each room

Student Rooms

  • Enhanced cleaning with hospital grade disinfectant used for touch-points
  • Welcome pack containing disposable hand wipes
  • Floor rugs removed
  • Iron and ironing boards temporarily removed and provided on request
  • Plastic sealable sleeves for remote controllers
  • Disposable biodegradable cups and stirrers for tea and coffee making facilities

Further Measures

  • Electrostatic sprayers
  • Separate marked waste bins for PPE
  • Tablets to check in and check out (to be cleaned after each use)
  • Perspex partitions for front desks
  • Stain free disinfectant for bags of students upon first check in
  • Wall mounted disinfectants outside and inside the main entrance, in front of all communal areas, and in front of the elevator on each floor
  • Enhanced cleaning of reception and concierge desks with hospital grade disinfectant
  • Door handle sleeves provided to each student
